Jack Duncan appears in these MusicFest Vancouver concerts:

Jack is the driving force behind the innovative bands Shango Ashé and Tambor Iroko, as well as an indispensable part of the Vancouver music scene. He's equally at home playing Latin music, West African music and jazz. His knowledge and experience of different musical styles and rhythms are unmatched in the community. As leader of Shango Ashé, which he founded in 1989, Jack has introduced numerous audiences to the wealth of Afro-Cuban traditions which he is privileged to have learned directly from the hands of the masters. Since its formation Shango Ashé has played every year at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and is continually evolving and incorporating fresh influences in its kaleidoscopic music. Jack's dynamic and sophisticated percussion playing has earned him a national and even an international reputation. He has been sought out by many of the top artists in North America to contribute his unique skills and experience, both for stage performances and for studio work. His discography stretches to more than thirty albums.
